10 VGA Card Gaming Pilihan

Bingung memilih Graphic Card (VGA Card) mana yang cocok untuk komputermu? Seabrek pilihan tersebut bisa dipersempit lewat kategori VGA Card khusus komputer game. Cara paling mudah memilih VGA Card adalah dengan membeli produk atau seri terbaru. Semakin baru teknologinya, tentu makin mahal juga harganya. Berikut ini sejumlah VGA Card yang pas untuk komputer game dengan harga terjangkau.

1. ATI Radeon HD 5870

Seri ATI Radeon 5800 sudah lama didedikasikan untuk performa video card yang terbaik. Hal itu terbukti begitu HD5870 hadir di pasaran, VGA Card ini langsung menempati tingkat teratas dari kategori single GPU, dan bersaing ketat dengan Geforce GTX 480. HD5870 menggunakan GDDR5 berkapasitas 1GB dan core clock speed 580Mhz, juga mendukung DirectX 11. Ukuran perangkat agak besar, sehingga pemasangannya memakan tempat dua slot di mainboard.

2. ATI Radeon HD 5850

VGA Kedua yang dirilis dalam platform seri Radeon 5800 adalah HD 5850. Walaupun lebih lambat dari HD5870, perangkat ini memiliki fitur yang sama, termasuk DX 11, Eyefinity, HDMI Bitstreaming, Supersample Anti-aliasing, dan 1 GB GDDR5 memory. Yang membuatnya lebih mahal dari HD587 adalah dikarenakan konsumsi listrik yang lebih kecil dan juga memiliki ukuran yang lebih kecil. Sedangkan untuk kecepatannya sebanding dengan GTX 285. VGA ini cukup laku dipasaran.

3. Nvidia GeForce GTX 470

GTX 470 adalah produk Nvidia pertama yang mendukung penggunaan DirectX 11.  Saat ini yang memiliki Chipset Single-GPU tercepat di pasaran hanyalah GTX 480, memang harganya cukup mahal. GTX 470 hanya setingkat dibawahnya, untuk hasil Benchmark dalam beberapa game hasilnya tidak jauh dari Radeon HD5850, sedangkan konsumsi listriknya lebih kecil dari HD5000. GTX 470 cukup memadai untuk gaming dan harganya lebih murah dibanding GTX 480.

4. ATI Radeon HD 5970

Radeon dual-GPU monster adalah HD 5970. Perangkat yang mulai dipasarkan akhir tahun lalu ini langsung menjadi "fastest discrete video card". HD5970 memiliki perbandingan kecepatan yang sama dengan dua unit HD5870, tetapi power yang dibutuhkannya bisa mencapai 300W. Perangkat ini memiliki Auxiliary Connector 6-pin dan 8-pin, dan menggunakan single PCB. Ukurannya lebih panjang dari ukuran VGA pada umumnya dan harganya juga dibawah VGA lain di kelasnya.

5. ATI Radeon HD 5830

ATI menawarkan VGA dengan harga bersaing lewat HD5830, yang dibandrol lebih murah daripada HD5770 dan HD5850. Perangkat ini hadir untuk menggantikan seri HD4890 yang sudah dihentikan produksinya. Dengan menggunakan teknologi GDDR5 berkapasitas 1 GB dan 256-bit memory bus, HD5830 sedikit lebih cepat dari HD5850. Walaupun belum secepat GTX 465, akan tetapi HD5830 tetap mampu menjalankan game beresolusi tinggi.

6. Nvidia GeForce GTX 465

GeForce GTX 465 adalah produk terbaru di deretan seri 400. Harganya US$280. Perangkat ini hadir dengan GDDR5 berkapasitas 1 GB dan menggunakan 256-bit memory bus. Untuk kecepatan dalam game, GTX 465 bisa bersaing melawan GTX 470.

7. ATI Radeon HD 4890

Radeon HD 4890 memiliki spesifikasi yang hampir sama dengan HD 4870, kecuali kecepatan clock speed. Perangkat ini sebanding dengan GeForce GTX 270 dan 280, untuk hasil benchmark setingkat dibawah GTX 285. Radeon HD 4890 dijual dengan harga US$200.

8. Nvidia GeForce GTX 285

Tidak lama setelah dirilis GeForce 9800, Nvidia memasuki era baru dengan meluncurkan GTX seri 280 dan 260. GTX 285 adalah seri 280 yang menggunakan teknologi 55nm, dan perangkat ini menjadi "true graphics powerhouse" dengan teknologi 1.4 billion transistor. Hadir di pasaran dengan harga lebih rendah daripada jajaran seri 280. Kemampuannya bisa diandalkan, masih bisa bersaing dengan Radeon HD 5000.

9. ATI Radeon HD 5770

Walaupun clock speed perangkat ini sama dengan HD 5870, kemampuan HD 5770 hanya setengahnya dibanding HD 5870, baik dalam hal kecepatan proses maupun tekstur unit. Perangkat ini memakai 128-bit memory bus, sedangkan 5870 menggunakan 256-bit. Bahkan dalam beberapa game perangkat ini lebih lambat dibanding HD 4870, padahal harganya hampir sama. Kelebihan dari HD 4870 adalah merupakan produk baru dan mendukung DirectX 11, memiliki fitur terbaru dari ATI (misal Eyefinity).

10. ATI Radeon HD 4870

HD 4870 tidak secepat GTX 280 dalam semua hasil benchmark, tetapi memiliki desain teknologi menggunakan Chip 55nm, sehingga konsumsi power lebih kecil. Perangkat ini merupakan produk ATI pertama yang menggunakan teknologi GDDR5, dan mendukung DirectX 10.1. HD4870 bisa dibeli seharga US$200. Fungsinya masih cukup memadai untuk gamer yang tidak terlalu memerlukan DirectX11.

Radeon HD 6770

In the last couple of weeks that we’ve been testing graphics cards, there’s one thing that most of us agreed upon, which is - you do get a good amount of performance from graphics cards that are designed to be budget offerings. With many enthusiasts wanting to game at lower resolutions and build systems under the Rs. 30,000 mark, there have to be some compromises that need to be made. We’ve learnt that you can still manage to game at decent quality settings with graphics cards priced under the Rs. 8,000 mark. Here’s one graphics card that caught our eye when we reviewed it recently in our budget graphics card comparison test.

Features
The XFX Radeon HD 6770, like the rest of the Radeon 6000 series of GPUs is based on the 40nm fabrication process. The GPU runs at 850MHz and has 800 stream processors under the hood. XFX has gone with 1GB of Hynix’s GDDR5 memory. This isn’t an overclocked card, so most of the specifications as exactly the same as the reference card.

Basic connectivity options - D-Sub, HDMI and DVI

In terms of connectivity, there’s a D-Sub, a DVI and an HDMI port at the rear. In terms of power requirements, the card demands a single 6-pin connector. CrossFire is support and this card can be used in a 3-GPU configuration. Stereoscopic 3D is supported and inherently, so is HDMI 1.4a.  DirectX 11 support is present, like it is on all modern GPUs.

Design
The XFX Radeon HD 6770 is different from the stock Radeon design. This card, however is smaller than the Radeon 6800 line of cards. XFX has gone with the standard black PCB and a large heatsink on top of the GPU. Although, the design of the heatsink is basic, but it is very effective.

A compact card

There’s no fancy designs and graphics on the card, either. The only visible sign of XFX is the logo on the fan. Although the card uses only one external slot, inside the cabinet, it’s likely to block the adjoining slot on the motherboard.

Performance
We reviewed a whole bunch of graphics cards using the budget graphics card comparison test. The XFX Radeon HD 6770 manages to get very close to the HD 6790 in most game titles. It’s as fast or faster than the Galaxy GTX 550 Ti, too. Across all benchmarks, the XFX HD 6770 trails behind by roughly 5 to 10 percent, which isn’t too shabby.

Comparison with other GPUs in the price and performance range

In terms of operating temperatures on idle, it settles down to around 40C and under load, that number rises to 56, which is still very commendable. The faster Radeon HD6790, for example will peak out at 77C, which on the other hand is pretty high.

Verdict
The XFX Radeon HD 6790 was the fastest card around followed by the GTX 550 Ti cards from Sparkle and Galaxy in the last comparison test.

A relatively large and effective heatsink

What the XFX Radeon HD 6770 does well is offer a good share of the performance at a lower price of just Rs. 6,785. So for those, with tighter budgets and demand most of the performance of the best performer, the XFX HD Radeon HD 6770 hits the sweet spot.
